Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Attempt To Publicly Destroy The Image Of Bill Cosby
So since his sentencing I’ve had a little time to reflect. I titled this the “Attempt” to Publicly Destroy Bill Cosby because I do not submit to the media propagated agenda to assassinate his legacy and iconic status symbol of achievement for African American Men & Women alike. This is a gross abuse and miscarriage of justice. America dubbed him “America’s Dad” he never dubbed himself that.
If we’re studying blueprints we’ll see similar tactics were used on the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson before his murder. We already know the system is rigged. The courts, the cops, the prosecutors, the media and unfortunately the uneducated simple minded blind believe what they read and see on TV as gospel.
All of this evil must unfold unfortunately because it serves a purpose. However, there is a silver lining. All true believers in Christ know when his cup of wrath is full it will be poured out without mixture aka UNDILUTED. The sons and daughters of Satan laugh, plot, and continue in their evil ways and thinking that there is no God, there is no justice, there is no karma that will befall them in their iniquities. How foolish they are. This is their time or their season. They must do all that they can while the climate is in their favor. The righteous await in anguished patience for divine justice to befall their enemies. Bill Cosby’s plight serves a purpose.
Ultimately he will be okay but if he should pass away in captivity his legacy will not be a footnote shaped by the evil mainstream media. Time will show and prove due process and a miscarriage of justice occurred to further an agenda that has been in practice since time memorial due to jealousy and hatred of God’s chosen.
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Ferry Service Returns to The Boogie Down!!!
For more than 80 years ferry service has been a forgotten transportation option for residents of the Bronx. Instead many Bronx residents had no alternative way to get to and from the city other than driving, taking the bus, or subways in and out. The commute times made it basically a horribly long commute to get to and from work for many residents who don’t or couldn’t afford to live in Manhattan. Several years ago we mentioned that docks were being built up in the Soundview section of the Bronx a neighborhood I know all to well as myself and my siblings grew up there.
Let me paint the picture for you. Imagine a hybrid area that seems part suburban and part inner city. Private homes on one side and projects just a few blocks away from the private homes. A two fare zone to get to and from this area meant for many of us walking to bus routes like the Bx27 or Bx39 taking a ride to the subway with overcrowded, often late more times than not buses, then transferring to trains, that depending on your station stop were either local or connected to an express 6 train to bring you into the city.
Now if you worked in a place like say Brooklyn that would mean once you exited the subway station stop you had to pay another fare to take the bus to your final destination or if in the city paying another fare on a bus to connect you to wherever in the city you had to go. All this while dealing with the chaos that is the MTA wrought with delay after delay and signal problems while playing the standard BS PA “We’re delayed due to train traffic ahead of us”.
Many a time you would sit there sigh and dream of what it would be like to sit on a ferry like the ones that connect Staten Island to Manhattan. A quick 30 minute ride over the water was just a distant dream. Today August 15, 2018 Mayor De Blasio along with local news marked the opening day of ferry service that connects Soundview to 90th Street, 34th Street, and Wall Street. The ferry ride is huge and not only signals that improved commuter life is here for many Bronx residents but that real estate prices are most certainly going to rise for homeowners in close proximity to the ferry. I imagine a rebirth and revitalization similar to the gentrification we’ve seen going on in places like Williamsburg, Queens, & the South Bronx where new luxury condo buildings are going up just over the 3rd Ave Bridge.
Once this ferry service proves it’s worth we should anticipate expansion of service to be a demand as more and more commuters flee packed 6 trains and local buses for this more scenic and preferable transportation option which currently is the same cost as a bus or subway ride. The only question I have is why the hell did it take so long?
Maybe it’s me, but have you ever stopped to think why in the hell it takes so long for road repairs to take place in New York City? Believe me I’m sure they want everyone to believe it’s because the scale of the work is so complicated and logistics of traffic detours and rush hour create a nightmare scenario too big to tackle safely in a relatively short period of time. Well personally we don’t buy any of that crap because the answer is far simpler than the hooey we’d be fed by construction officials and contractors up to now. The obvious answer is corruption and greed. Technology is a remarkable tool that aids us daily in our lives and makes things more manageable. Can you imagine what is was like to rip up streets by hand and how many more bodies it would take to get the same work done?
Pictures are worth more than a thousand words. So I’ll let the images and video do the talking and you tell me if you think they couldn’t use these tech tools displayed here to rapidly repair roadways that desperately need them throughout the city including those heinous and dangerous potholes that chomp on the unsuspecting tires of drivers unfortunate enough to roll onto or into them. If I were to name the streets and intersections where some of these dastardly demon mouths appear throughout the city we’d be here all day and all night. I want people to see what’s possible and just how quickly a street that needs complete repair can be stripped and repaved.I can understand massive projects take time but NYC with all the money there is here and construction going on nonstop, it’s hard to believe work doesn’t get done sooner not for any other reason than people are dragging their heels to drive costs up and fatten their pockets. Before someone says anything about not knowing the ins and outs of road paving. I lived down south for several years and saw highways stripped and replaced completely with newly spray painted lane lines within a week. If that’s possible there it’s possible here period.
I mean just look at those machines and dump trucks. Efficient use of time and machinery is all that’s required. By the way at least 3 blocks worth of streets were stripped using the machines you see in the videos.
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Stand Your Ground Law & It’s Implications
By now everyone in the U.S has probably heard of the Stand Your Ground Law (unless you live under a rock) which was brought to public consciousness with the high profile murder case of George Zimmerman who gunned down 17 year old Trayvon Martin in his father’s neighborhood in Florida back in 2012. George Zimmerman a disgusting excuse for a human-being whose prejudice & racist attitude coupled with the use of the “Stand Your Ground Law” allowed him to basically get away with murdering an African American kid. Make no mistake, a 17 year old is still just a kid. This was a grown man with a hatred of people of color and the desire to become law enforcement who failed to become an officer of the law despite his numerous attempts.
His unhealthy obsession with becoming a police officer drove him to study criminal justice and self defense in particular because he wanted to have a legal means of killing people of color. Despite all the facts of the case America’s stubborn racist mindset and rigged judicial system along with “Lord Voldemort” himself Mark O’Meara convinced a jury that only one person was allowed to use the Stand Your Ground Law when the confrontation occurred between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin.
Due to his death at the hands of George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin was unable to testify that he was stalked, attacked, wrestled to the ground as he fought valiantly for his life and ultimately shot at point blank range by George Zimmerman in the dark of night while rain fell.
Without rehashing all the details of that night the implications are clear. If you are a person of color and in particular an African American male/female child or adult, young or old, your life can be taken (without remedy) by anyone be it an ordinary citizen or a police officer. Open season was declared with the not guilty verdict. How did America allow this to happen? The answer is America has always allowed this to happen. Her soil is saturated and drunken full with the blood and bodies of innumerable African American people while the judicial system regards their lost lives as foot notes not worthy of mention and rightfully taken by anyone who sees fit to do so.
People can point to the “holocaust” it’s survivors and the descendants of survivors with empathy and remembrance along with monetary compensation for them to help with their recovery from those concentration camps. Under former President Obama, America gave $12 million dollars to “Jewish” holocaust survivors and/or their descendants. What do people point to when it comes to the innumerable number of African/Afro – American lives lost to slavery, rape, murder, public lynching, Jim Crow, & convict leasing programs not to mention the mass incarceration of Afro-Americans brought on by the Clinton era? Nothing…not a peep.
“Stand Your Ground” is just another legal affront to African American people and should be stricken from the law books. One should not be afforded the protections of Stand Your Ground” when initiating a conflict and then claiming self defense to justify murder. Do you notice when a person of color tries to use “Stand Your Ground” that defense isn’t allowed? What are we to do? As it stands we’re currently damned if we do, double damned if we don’t. Perhaps with backs to the wall the answer is (if there is no legal recourse or protection for African-American people) to arm yourselves anyway. Personally, I think it better to have a chance at self defense than no defense at all. Fuck a system that doesn’t give a shit whether you live or die so long as money can be made off your talents, your labor, your physical body, your life, your property, and your intellect. This onslaught can’t go on unchecked and unchallenged.
What I know from experience is that it’s only when you stand up for yourself that people respect you. What incentive is there to change anything if the people affected aren’t willing to fight for the change?
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Great Yellow Cab Dilemma
Some fellow New Yorkers might have heard on the local news today that there was a cab driver led march on Albany today. The purpose of the march, to protest the conditions yellow cab drivers face in the city as competition from companies like Uber, Lyft, Juno and others have shifted customers away from more expensive yellow cab rides to ride share services.
Why did ride share services like Uber and Lyft explode on the scene? They arrived and thrived because everyday New Yorkers weren’t always being adequately served by yellow cab drivers in need of navigating the city when mass transit just wasn’t quick or convenient enough to meet the needs of us New Yorkers and commuters.
First, let me say that I can somewhat empathize with the cab drivers especially the ones who committed suicide recently due to pressures from working really long shifts just to make ends meet as well as the hustle to pay the medallions on the yellow cabs they drive. However, my empathy goes but so far.
As a New York City native, there have been countless times I’ve had to stand by and watch as yellow cab after yellow cab drove willfully past me while I hailed them, only to break their necks, if not cause an accident outright to stop and pick up a Caucasian person (male or female) who happened to step in front of me or just appear at an intersection and immediately be received as a passenger.
Often times that experience left me feeling a deep resentful burning anger as I had to face and accept that I wouldn’t be picked up and either walk to my desired destination or take the subway, or bus especially in the dead of winter. You see there was a time when yellow cab drivers could disregard serving the transportation needs of whomever they saw fit based on yes, the color, appearance, or perceived ability to pay a fare.
Many times it was also drivers who were persons of color that engaged in this insidious and repugnant discriminatory behavior because for them a Caucasian or fair skinned passenger was deemed the more desirable fare.
If you’re a person of color who’s had to even resort to tricks like having a Caucasian or fair skinned friend hail the cab while you stood back, basically hiding so that cab driver would stop, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
When I listened to the news story about the protest from the yellow cab drivers due to the 5th cab driver suicide in as many months I thought this is tragic. The medallions for yellow cabs prices were exorbitantly high and nothing was done about this. That’s where any suggestion about caps belongs not on the backs of the service user. Medallions for yellow cabs costing anywhere from $500k to $1 million dollars is where the fundamental problem starts.
That price was too fucking high for anyone to pay because it basically ensured whoever borrowed money to buy that medallion or pay the lease weekly was a slave for life. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out before deciding whether to be a yellow cab driver or not. Greed drives NYC and everyone knows it. I call a spade a spade and an idiot a idiot when it’s applicable period.
To get away from discriminatory driving practices and unreliable mass transit, an underserved market demand cried (if not begged out loud) to be heard and answered. Ridesharing which wasn’t that popular came calling even though it had existed previously in the form of dollar vans or dollar cabs. As with anything new, at first it wasn’t the best option just an alternative one.
Technology such as GPS and easy pay options that didn’t require a swipe of a credit or debit card or cash any longer not to mention expanded service areas sounded the death nell to an industry resistant to tech or change. Yellow cabs are a dinosaur service that now blames fair market response to their higher costs and behavioral practices for their problems.
To suggest that the answer should be to punish the customers who have the right to seek alternative services (especially cost saving ones) is on its face ludicrous, disingenuous and anti American and/or anti meritocracy. If your business sucks as a business model and free market forces, ie competition drive you out of business that’s the nature of business. Remember Yellow cabs also have a monopoly within the city against Green cabs and livery cabs as well.
This reaction to them is exactly what should happen in a free market if they aren’t able or willing to adapt. I don’t want to hear any bs arguments about regulation and caps, that just brings more corruption. The market place has spoken and told the Yellow Cab industry “you aren’t competitive, you’re too expensive and therefore alternative options to you are necessary. Either join them or dissolve.” Don’t hate the rest of the market or customers for waking up long before you have. By the way no one is holding a gun to the drivers heads saying they must drive a Yellow cab or sign their name to a lifetime of debt. That is a choice or gamble the person who signs up to do that job takes knowingly going in.
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Justice For Matthew McCree (Revisited) 2018
Some of us may remember hearing about the killing of 15 year old Matthew McCree at the hands of his fellow classmate 18 year old Abel Cedeno in a Bronx public school last year. The news reported that Cedeno stabbed and killed Matthew allegedly in self defense as well as critically stabbing another classmate Ariane Laboy. Both the media and Cedeno’s attorney have claimed Cedeno was bullied in school by Matthew McCree for being gay and/or bisexual. So the first excuse thrown out there is bullying.
Next the killer’s sexual orientation is used as a defense to make it appear as though Abel Cedeno was some weak little “gay” boy who was constantly picked on by this particular class mate 3 years his junior which leads to another question I have. Why in the world is an 18 year old in the same class as 15 year olds? It’s important to note that other students say Cedeno was routinely bullied by other students not necessarily Matthew McCree.
In the latest media update an approximately nine second blurry cell phone video of the altercation in class has been released. The defense claims the video helps Cedeno who is charged with manslaughter. Here are the problems I have with that. Firstly, the video doesn’t show the actions leading up to the altercation between the students so it’s a he said/ he said situation where the deceased isn’t able to give his side of what happened prior to his eventual fatal stabbing.
Secondly, there’s nothing in the cell phone video that shows Cedeno in mortal danger for his life at the time he stabs the other two students. Kids have fights all the time but that doesn’t justify stabbing a kid to death and almost killing another. The defense says prosecution withheld the release of this video implying they were hiding evidence. That little caveat may signal bad news for any hope of an open and shut case for the prosecution but could also just be a cautious release because the video is inconclusive from what was shown.
In my opinion the video does little to substantiate a self defense claim. The defense has to claim the stabbing was in self defense because there is no other legit defense they can offer. Notice the fact that the only student with a weapon was Abel Cedeno. From the start this case has had the look and feel of a kid who simply lost his cool, over reacted, and then killed another kid and now wants to be given a pass by playing the victim card and using sexuality as a mitigating factor for murder.
No one is asking why Abel Cedeno brought a knife to school in the first place which leads me to think this warrants premeditated murder charges more so than manslaughter. His douchebag defense attorney thinks people are dumb enough to believe the actions of his client are justified. They are not justified.
Lastly, in a classic, disgusting, desperate and often used defense tactic, Cedeno’s attorney demonized and character assassinated Matthew McCree after the fact with an unproven claim that the victim was a gang member all while claiming he didn’t want to demonize Matthew McCree. Clearly that insult to injury and death, is a blatant knowingly false characterization labeling Matthew negatively in order to put into potential jurors minds as well as the public’s that the deceased young boys death was warranted and that he was inherently dangerous.
How fucking low can you go? Notice up to now I made no mention of the ethnicity of the young boys involved in this case because I wanted the focus to be on the circumstances of the killing. Nonetheless, why ethnicity is an important factor here is because of how society and the judicial system treat people based on their ethnicity. Labeling the victim, a 15 year old Afro American male a gang member reinforces a long perpetuated stereotype that Afro American people and in particular Afro American boys and men are criminals.
If Abel Cedeno were Afro American and Matthew McCree and Ariane Laboy were Latino or White we all know what the media and attorneys would be saying. They’d be screaming “Lock Abel up and throw away the key.” We need to hear from Ariane Laboy who fortunately survived. All that said, based on history I’d be shocked if justice is actually served and Cedeno is rightfully convicted.
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Saying Goodbye To 2017!!!
It’s a hard thing to admit. Time waits for no one. The future is always coming, always pressing, pushing, prodding, & rushing towards us faster and faster. In my mind…2017 flew by like a blurred picture of a highway with brilliant streaking red lines and white lines lighting up an enigmatic winding and curving highway in the dark. Here’s to saying goodbye to the first year into this wicked, egotistical, self-centered douchebags presidency in which we’ve seen Trump do everything in his power to undue any positives from President Barack Obama’s presidency that would help the average American citizen.
Here’s to saying goodbye to a year that saw countless numbers of cops walk “Scott-free” from clear cases of murder under the justification of fear for their own lives as the default excuse for the murder of unarmed Afro-American people (Men, women and children alike).
Here’s to saying goodbye to a year in which the GMen have been the worst football team in NYC let alone the NFC East which is a feat that is unfathomable as a Giants’ fan with the knowledge that Eli has 2 Super Bowl rings and victories over the “GOAT” one Tom Brady & his vaunted Patriots. Here’s to saying goodbye to a year that has seen more terror attacks in NYC and the world abroad than has been recalled in recent memory since 9/11 2001. Back then I was a new college graduate and coming home to NYC was all I could think about. Getting back to what made sense and being able to see other faces that at least in pigmentation resembled my own was a necessity.
Here’s to saying goodbye to a year in which I saw so many tumultuous familial ordeals unfold one after the other yet still having the faith in God and the resolve to keep on pushing day after day towards a goal of better things to come despite the pitfalls and obstacles that our old adversary continues to throw out day in and day out. Here’s to welcoming in a new year with the promise of a better tomorrow, new friendships, new experiences, new lessons, and to overcoming the year prior. Here’s to saying goodbye to a year of setbacks, delays, and distractions from achieving previous goals set.
Here’s to saying Goodbye to a year in which we saw one Colin Kaepernick’s public -/blacklisting by the NFL while he received the honor of Time’s Person of the Year. Interesting how now the media’ s attention has turned more towards Lavar Ball than to the original message of Colin’s protest in the first place. America has a fickle & very short-term memory. Now instead of police brutality, corruption, and state sponsored murder of Afro-American people being the front page news.
We’re inundated daily with the real “fake news” of what Lavar Ball has said or what his kids have done vs the lack of attention to the blatant and willful miscarriage of justice incessantly for murderous law enforcement officers, given a pass for their killings of unarmed people of color with impunity. Now the attention turns to terrorism as long as we don’t mention white faces as the current standard bearers for that title’s distinction.
Here’s to saying Goodbye to Roy Moore and all the sexual harassment or abuse scandals that have sprung up and spread like the wild fires in California which haven’t been seen to this extent since they came for Bill Cosby. Here’s to the pot calling the kettle black. LMAO!!! 2018 you can’t get here soon enough and the world can’t hardly wait.
