Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Sunset At Randall’s Island
Thought we’d share some Summer Sunset photos taken at Randall’s Island last week. Enjoy
Our trip began with a walk by the water towards the Randall’s Island Bridge where some kids were flying the above.
Taking the Bridge during daylight hours
We continued to follow the direction of the sign until we came upon this
Little Building Blocks…silly me I thought we’d actually see an “Urban Farm”
Love this view of the city
The sun was still shining in its strength
Under the bridge at dusk
The good ole Tri-boro up close and personal
By now we were getting tired and ready to head back towards the Randall’s Island bridge to catch the sun setting over the buildings and water.
A bird of prey swooped in from above
This guy too told me to get his “good side” and so I attempted to do so
Next it came by for some profile shots
The sun began its descent more rapidly after shooting the above and what follows are magnificent in our humble opinion.
If you look closely, aside from appearing like gold in the water, you can see the sun perfectly displayed at the bottom of the photo
Time to head back across the bridge
And last here’s a quick video of what it looked like real time.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Central Park “Spring” 2014 PT II
Check out the miniature waterfall. Amazing how most anything in life is relative to scale.
The heck you say…
That Duck got to flapping its wings and doing a little speed boat action for us.
This was just a peaceful view.
This one was giving us all fashion. “Get my right side, my right side!”
I don’t know about you but that tree right there is sick looking (In a good way). I’ve been seeing trees in bloom like this one all over the city. It had to get got.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Central Park “Spring” 2014 Location: Duh..Central Park, 2pm
On a day my friend and I decided to get out and enjoy a beautiful day out in Central Park we walked through the park on a way that I hadn’t been thru Central Park before. Shame on me a native new yorker but the great thing is, it’s never to late to learn something or discover something new.
Entering Central park from the upper east side and 5th ave led to a cross the park hike up and down and slight inclines and declines in the trail which is being given a face lift from it’s previous decades.
The sight of the canoes gave me flashbacks to child hood sleep away camp Summer’s gone by.
This is what you will encounter more and more throughout the park as Spring unfolds more slowly this year than I remember in recent years. Next on our way through the park we encountered multiple bird feeders in the trees along the paths. Immediately captivated by the different colors on display we got a little caught up “bird watching”. 😉
To be continued…
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Head in the Clouds: The Heavens, Planes, & Trees
Ahh just the sight of that makes me long for a vacation.
Initially, the day began with Grey clouds, snow falling lightly, almost whimsical through a frost chilled air. I dragged myself from bed earlier than normal and embraced the dreary day ahead.
Checking my cell I saw I had a full hour of sleep to have before my alarm went off. I blinked several times at my flat screen still on but in sleep mode. My local cable provider’s logo bouncing from diagonal to diagonal.
I reached for my cell and texted my baby I’d be over soon. After breakfast and morning exercise, I was set on staying in all day. That all changed when the sun beamed into the room at high noon. We decided then and there to be adventurous and embrace the day and weather.
The snow-covered sidewalks yielded some melting and clear paths as the sun shone in its strength. Pausing to take in the glory of God, I snapped these shots.
To be able to actually capture these fleeting moments for posterity, I felt truly blessed to be alive. Best day had in a long time.
I make photographs and poems to please myself (and share them to please you).
