Just more of the same. Intense surveillance no privacy anywhere I hear Hobbits off in the background envisioning seeing the all seeing eye.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Jackson Hole Experience: Episode 1
On an impromptu outing to get some good burgers with a fellow food enthusiast friend of mine, I wound up having my first ever Jackson Hole Experience.
Location: East 83rd – 84th and 2nd ave, Manhattan
Evening 7:30pm

Located just around the corner from 86th and Lexington you can find Jackson Hole Diner. A fellow food enthusiast friend of mine had told me about a great burger place called Jackson Hole and so we decided to meet up there and try their fare. I arrived first and made my way toward the entrance.

Upon entrance into the establishment, I noticed the 80’s American diner feel Jackson Hole offers. Jackson Hole was actually established in 1972. There is a nice nostalgic feel to the place that managed to keep my attention for more than a few moments.

Inside Jackson Hole

Check out the Ole School Juke Box.
I was eventually seated in a booth towards the middle rear of the diner before deciding to order a beer while I waited for my friend to arrive. I looked over the pink menu (as if the name of this place wasn’t sexually suggestive enough lol) placed on the table and began to ponder which burger I’d like to try.

The Pink Menu Cover leaves something to be desired.
I apologize in advance for the poor image quality of the inside of the menu. I should have taken a few more shots at a farther distance to capture the entire menu, and give you a better idea of what Jackson Hole has to offer. However, in this visit my attention focused solely on the burger section of their menu.

Inside the Menu of Jackson Hole
While I waited a server delivered a saucer full of cold and seemingly freshly sliced pickles to go with my Blue Moon.

The Appetizer Round
My friend arrived not too long after I received the pickles & beer. We looked over the menu and knew within moments what we’d each have. I selected a side order of onion rings to go with my main order of two of Jackson Hole’s burgers that piqued my interest. My friend opted for a cheeseburger with steak fries…

Those Onion Rings were sinfully delicious and perfectly fried I must say.
I settled on the New Yorker and The Kaluba Burger which I had ham and tomato and raw onions over the half pound of beef smothered in American cheese. I wanted to find out if I’d actually like a stuffed gorgonzola burger from Big Nick’s the next time I went and figured this would be the perfect opportunity to test out that hypothesis and so I added Gorgonzola to the American on the New York Burger. The Kaluba Burger was of intrigue because I hadn’t had ham on a burger in some time no pun intended. 😉

Jackson Hole’ New Yorker Burger. What a burger?!!
Yes just when you thought I didn’t have enough onions on the table, I had fresh raw onion on top of fried ham balancing on top of a thick, well done, juicy burger smothered in American cheese. I then turned my gaze on my New York Burger. When I looked over my New York burger I remembered my plate of onion rings and the light bulb went off.

This is how you build upon a great burger. Throw some onion rings on dat %$#^. LOL
If you look close enough you can see the layer of melted gorgonzola cheese underneath the blanket of American. Despite the amazing look of the burger, my tongue was displeased with the combination in taste between the two cheeses as the gorgonzola overpowered the taste of the entire burger.
I ended up having to scrape a significant part of it off the burger before being able to finish it properly. In addition I also had to cut a smaller portion of lettuce from the unruly large hunk given to top my burger which was quickly becoming crowded.
I often wonder, why is it that most diners don’t do a better job of adequately cutting up their lettuce to bites that aren’t a tall order to chew through. For me, a massive hunk of barely regulated lettuce, slapped on my plate to garnish my burger is a big turnoff.
In any case I loved the combination of adding onion rings to my Kaluba burger so much so that I repeated the process on The New York burger.

The crowning of a New Yorker Burger at Jackson Hole.
That be right folks, I piled the fried onion rings on top of the raw ones and then added my tomato and it all came together like a symphony that was oh so satisfying. Mmm mmm Son!!! On the plate towards the bottom is in fact a smearing of A1 steak sauce that was used to sample some of the remaining onion rings.
Now for the assessment of the quality of the meal and the attention to detail. I have to say that eating at Jackson Hole was an experience that highlighted the week for me, as thanks to my good friend, I now have yet another fantastic burger place to eat at whenever I’m in the mood for an amazingly great tasting burger in the city!!! Jackson Hole lives up to their advertising of having thick nearly half pound burgers.
The quality of the beef in my burger was one of the best I’ve had all year and I have to say outdoes by the slimmest of margins the burger offerings of Blue 9 Burgers and Schnippers at this point. I’ll eventually do a side by side comparison of Blue 9, Big Nick’s, Shake Shack, Schnippers, and Jackson Hole to find which of them I like the best stay tuned for that in the near future. 😉
As for taste there was no gaminess to the burgers whatsoever. Once again I was reminded of what great quality burgers taste like as my first bite into my New Yorker took me back to fond childhood memories of eating at Burger Barn with family as a rare treat.
The texture and thickness of eat burger was perfectly moist yet well done ie no pink meat showing inside anywhere, just how I like my burgers. The onion rings were fried perfectly golden and not soggy but light and crunchy and our beers arrived cold fresh off tap. In all it was well worth the price of admission.
On a scale of 1 to 5 dinner plates where 5 is the highest score possible for the following categories I score Jackson Hole a 5 out of 5 dinner plates for quality & taste. 4 1/2 dinner plates for presentation, 5 dinner plates for attention to detail as far as my preparation requirements and lastly 4 out of 5 dinner plates for price for an average dinner plate score of 4.7 dinner plates out of 5. Not too shabby Jackson Hole.
By the time we concluded our meal both burgers were completely gone sans the scraped off gorgonzola and left over lettuce refuse. No onion rings survived and the smoothness of my remaining Blue Moon helped cleanse my palete.

At the end of the day only some initial pickles remained.
After paying our tab which came in at nearly $66 including a 20% tip mostly due in part to my order 😉 I took this final parting image as we left an awesome burger joint. If you feel the price is a bit too high realize that there was the cost of several beers, the side order, and additional charge for gorgonzola cheese. I’d say pricing was right on par with that of Big Nick’s and the quality of the meal as I said matched the value in price paid. However, I welcome any burger enthusiast to check out Jackson Hole and tell us what you think of them. Are they rated too high? Or not high enough?

A quick look at the decor inside before leaving.
Jackson Hole I will be back again and again. Until next food adventure this has been the Jackson Hole Experience: Episode 1 by THEJNSREPORT.
Coming soon new food adventures and film reviews. This week I reconnect with Big Nick’s Burger and Pizza Joint as well as Hill Country Barbecue.
I’m in the mood for some tender juicy “moist brisket” as well as some stuffed burger concoctions from Big Nick’s. Let’s see what I come up with, stay tuned…
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Selfish Part II
In the last post on this subject, I was optimistic that my appeal for more selflessness vs selfishness would have some impact. Ladies and gentlemen, in this 2013 “year of our lord” I give to you evidence yet again that we have much more work to do. In a joint collaboration cross over project with FrozenRope Photography.wordpress.com we present this artistic take on how comic like we are as human beings. I give you Photo Effects II: The Selfish Part II

Evidence your honor…We enter into evidence Exhibit E.

Makes no difference where, selfishness travels, in this case from the train to the bus.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Decompression and The Social Unplug
Written by T.D Moody
I find it amazing how fast and important social networking has become. I remember as a high school kid one Social Studies teacher I had, telling our class that the future was in networking. He went on to say, basically, when you get to college make as many friends as you can especially affluent ones. This being due to it’s more a matter of who you know, not what you know.
I thought that a strange saying back then, but came to realize the truth in his statement. Today’s world consists of a new “smart phone”, apps for just about anything, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and on and on to connect people all around the world.
What I see, is when ever one needs to get something done it’s rare that things get done without the aid of others. This is true whether it’s in getting a new job, finding a great airline hookup, for free upgrades and/or flights, or a bartender who comps a few rounds, or a door man at a club, or a real estate agent to find you the best available apt at a bargain. Social networking is the wave of the future and it’s for that reason that I find it also a dangerous tool.
Aside from the fact that keeping up with so many “friends” be it on Facebook or Twitter or any other major social networking site, can feel like a 2nd or 3rd job. Personally, I find it essential, not to be so plugged in to everything trying to keep up with so much information going on. I’m also in favor of advocating decompression breaks at work where cell phone and computer use stops completely for an hour to allow one to relax and unplug for a bit from this crazy world we live in.
The dangerous aspect of social networking today is that it’s so instantaneous, one is capable of defamation for potentially hundreds of millions of people to see online immediately. Or one’s entire personal history, information, & contacts grouped, arranged, then studied and monitored far more easily. This is because the user of social network sites volunteers the info that is then collected and saved about them, their family and friends.
In my opinion it’s too much information to be floating around unprotected. Privacy is the underlying issue. However, for those who don’t find it a problem to have all their business exposed, that doesn’t mean that the rest of society feels that way or should tolerate their right to privacy being discarded or treated as some old rag. Eric Snowden’s exposure of this helps cement a healthy distrust of government in conjunction with the war on our civil liberties.
I’m in no way advocating completely severing all networking ties but being vigilant in what one uploads socially. Clearly, today’s world says once it’s out there, it’s out there, fair game. By the way the protections built into the laws that allow corporations such as the telephone companies and internet service providers to violate personal privacy with no liability are nothing to laugh at either. In effect one has no legal remedy to the overt and blatant trampling of their rights.
Subpoena or no, intrusions into the private lives of citizens will not make any one of us safer from terrorism. This is a tactic to distract the public at large from the real issue, & gain support from the people to voluntarily submit themselves to total control and oppression if not suppression of life.
We have to really remind ourselves of the fact that most people wouldn’t be aware of the governments spying scandal if an insider (and now notorious) whistle-blower Eric Snowden hadn’t exposed it. For his bravery he’s now being persecuted and labeled in mass media pretty much as an “enemy of the state“. Why does the main stream media not keep the story focused on the content of his release versus the government’s pursuit of him?
Rationally thinking I have to conclude that it’s because he was working for them and violated the very trust they had placed in him that we the people are to misguidedly place in our “elected” officials in government making decisions that directly affect the lives of us the citizenry it’s supposed to serve and protect. Which leads me to my next point.
I wonder if it’s just me or whether anyone else has thought about how social networking has changed us as a society from the standpoint that now some of us think we’re actually closer to people when right next to one another with the aid of an electronic device in our hands texting one another back and forth versus an audible real life conversation?
I’m not saying it’s not without some really cool and/or beneficial uses but it’s seemingly replaced the traditional sit down and honest talk of years past. I suppose the logical explanation for this new trend in social interaction is the fact that one can see what it is one is about to say to someone else and decide if what they communicate comes across the way intended.
It also gives one the opportunity to analyze what another party is communicating before giving an answer. Typically I find cell phones & tablets are a social prop much like a mask that one can hide behind instead of looking the person in the eye while talking face to face.
Expressions, and body language do speak volumes. Thinking about all of that under a microscope without one’s personal permission, arbitrarily at the disposal of elites & the military industrial complex is a heinous and frightening idea.
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Trayvon Martin Murder Trial: Initial thoughts
Written by Akan Bosemann
I scarcely know where to begin as I try to compose and organize my thoughts on this emotionally charged and polarizing case for justice in the murder of a 17-year-old black male that took place over a year ago in the state of Florida.
I’m certain just from what I’ve seen on the media coverage of the case and the news reports from the time of the killing till now that this case is yet another case where America is on trial and not just Zimmerman.
My sentiments are reflective of a person who is of African-American heritage and ancestry. They are of a Black Man living in modern-day America, specifically, New York City , who has had his own experiences with discrimination, bigotry, and prejudice on different fronts.
I know there are many others from differing ethnic backgrounds who will want to chime in and express their concerns and empathize with the plight of all people who are victims of violent crimes and gun violence and not just “Black America”.
Some will want to shun the issue of ethnicity all together. I say ethnicity and not race because there is only one race on this planet when it comes to human beings and that is the human race. With that firmly established I turn my attention to what we all basically are to understand from what is happening in the Trayvon Martin Murder Trial.
And that is that the victim a 17-year-old boy who had done nothing wrong other than be black ,gets murdered in cold blood, then blamed for his death by his killer under the Florida State “Stand Your Ground Law”. The murderer, George Zimmerman is claiming he killed Trayvon in self-defense and feared his life was in imminent danger.
Tell me in what case anyone has ever heard of an accused killer being a minority in which the victim was white and the killer claimed self defense and wasn’t arrested on the day of the killing. Regardless of Zimmerman’s literal ethnicity he appears as a “white man”.
It hearkens my mind back to remember the history of America. An America that has so much of the blood of my people on its hands not even all the oceans of this world could wash them clean. Black men and women, young and old lynched and murdered where all white juries came back with not guilty verdicts patting themselves on the back and celebrating.
Zimmerman’s own words convict him and these weak and desperate attempts by his defense team and his supporters to blame a defenseless Trayvon Martin wreaks to the heavens. I’ll tell you what else wreaks to the heavens is a six person jury of all women and five of them being white and not a single black person on the jury.
The police department didn’t follow proper protocol in its investigation of Trayvon’s killing and let his murderer go free the same night just taking his(Zimmerman’s) account as gospel for what took place.
I listened with disgust as one Zimmerman sympathizer after another attemped to explain their willful ignorance and stupidity in analyzing what we know and what Zimmerman has said. The defense wants to claim it’s Zimmerman’s voice heard yelling for help on that 911 tape.
If that was Zimmerman screaming for help then the earth is flat and there is no sky. He was the one with the gun!!! Trayvon was the one who was running away from him. Zimmerman confirms Trayvon ran when he realized Zimmerman was watching him and following him, so how does that make Trayvon the aggressor?
In addition tell me of any person who has a gun on them and chases after someone after being told not to by the police forgetting that they have a deadly weapon on them. The defense’s claim is that Trayvon Martin was also armed with a deadly weapon.
Are you ready for this? What was the deadly weapon Trayvon Martin had outside of a bag of Skittles, and a can of Iced Tea he’d paid for? The sidewalk!!!! Really?!!! That alone should be enough to tell any rational and thinking person who the aggressor was.
In a light rain that night if there was blood on the pavement from where Zimmerman claims Trayvon banged his (Zimmerman’s) head on the ground shouldn’t there be photo evidence and forensic evidence collected before the blood could be “washed” away?
Asking the right questions is the key to figuring out if Zimmerman’s story even holds a scintilla of truth to it. Those heinous pictures shown in court of Trayvon’s lifeless body first face down and then rolled over were enough to churn my stomach and fill my heart with grief, compassion and sorrow for his family, while feeling nothing but contempt, and disgust for a cold, emotionless, fat fuck of a murdering bastard as he sat there stone faced. There wasn’t one instance I could see any remorse in Zimmerman’s face or body language for what he’d done.
Trayvon didn’t deserve what he got but unfortunately in this evil world we live in that doesn’t matter. My thoughts and prayers go out to Trayvon’s family and many others like his. I pray that we all see real justice served and this murdering bastard found guilty, then sentenced accordingly. JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON. America… the world is watching. GOD is watching. What are you going to do?
Welcome to the JnSReport’s: See~Saw Satisfaction
by Protege‘
My deep desire is to be one of those who propel positive progress from people in general. I feel the best way to achieve genuine satisfaction is to live life as a seesaw giving and receiving. I want to address the basic aspects of life in regards to interactions with nature, the environment, animals as well as fellow human beings. I yearn to better become the protege of those ground-breakers of the past and the positive influence infusers of the present.
Once one’s living space is secured- meaning properly maintained without interfering with neighboring animals or surrounding environment; one can then focus on self-discovery as well as self exploration as to the best ways to utilize their found skills and talents.
Hopefully at this stage in one’s life journey, one will realize and appreciate the fact that the individual is just one very important part of the whole masterpiece that is life. Humans cannot live as one sole being; they should positively give and take just as we breathe. We should at least try to give as much positive influence to the world as we benefit from on a daily basis. Everything in existence has no choice but to follow this bold fact. Since everything we do effects the whole package, we should put forth sincere effort in our intentions and their effects, as much as we expect to receive.
I truly believe that if we would just accept this truth and focus on securing the best tactics to utilize our God-given gifts within our part of the masterpiece of life, we would achieve happiness- the epitome of satisfaction due to positive progress. Think of it; honing our talents throughout all their ranges in an efficient manner, towards contributing to the positive maintenance of the world as a whole.
The problem with my romantic findings is the reality of living in a world that constantly insists on securing the absoluteness of a Monopoly focused life condition. There are those that sadly choose to be afraid to discover, explore and hone their personal provisions or worse yet, wrongfully use them for the sole purpose of self-indulgence.
Such selfish beings either believe they are the only ones on earth entitled to all possible gratification on the planet or they focus all their efforts towards others in some warped way of self-pleasuring vicariously through the satisfaction of those previously described. Just as in the famous lyrics of the Eurytmics’ timeless hit Sweet Dreams, “Everybody’s looking for something… Some of them want to use you; some of them want to be used by you!”
These same selfish beings constantly try to squash all those in their path with their greed. They go to such extremes to monopolize all the best aspects of life. They hoard the highest levels of every element of existence for themselves and still cannot nullify the simple truth that they cannot totally advance alone. They still need the financial underlings to feed and maintain their wealth.
These same beings could use their earthly fortunes to totally eradicate the vast majority of the world’s issues if not all! The few cannot both rule and run the entire earth; just as humans cannot survive on our own without nature. We must share, even if it is only a small amount compared to the whole, contributions with all other life forms we exist amongst. If more people thought to help heal, I feel they would in some way or other create the means to best enhance their well-being overall, that of the: mind, body, soul & spirit.
One of the best film examples of my theory is Looper, emphasizing how we all do & can play either a positive or negative role in life for most if not all. We should stray from living as “we’re gonna die young” but as we’re going to live long & strong. In a perfect world you’d get what you deserve right as you earned it in both respects. The good get blessings and the bad get retribution.
What we who know better must do, is stay confident that our race is not in vain even though it so clearly seems so. Being selfish will only afford counterfeit gratification; for “all that glitters is not gold”, rather greed’s shallow needs leads to hollow and thereby lonely ends.
At least try to do what’s right knowing karma no matter how delayed, is real. Thanks for reading and thereby allowing me to vent my feelings about the sad state of the human condition.
God Bless especially when the world’s evil dares to test!
