Have Eric Garner’s last words become a punch line? I thought this a proper question to ask when I saw the following while riding the subway this morning.
What are your thoughts on this?

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: THE BRONX: SCENES & SUNSET
On a day where I ventured home to visit family along with my significant other, mom invited us to take a photo walk in order to collect memories of our beloved neighborhood.
The future is coming pretty quick and life is seemingly flying by. .
A lot of the marsh and trees along with overgrown bushes had been cleared since the last time I’d been here.
Behind the fence they’ve apparently set up seating on stone slabs for outdoor concerts. Restoring this area near the water is going to make the neighborhood appreciate so much more than in past years.
From here you can see the planes so close as they come in for landings & take off from LaGuardia Airport.
This was so cool to capture.
As we walked further along the path the sun began to set.
in a few years a ferry that connects the Bronx to Manhattan will be here. Incredible that it wasn’t thought of sooner, but all things happen in their own time.
Our walk took us next to an opening where you could fish and boats could potentially dock.
If I only had a boat right about now.
As we continued our journey the path began to curve into more shady areas with lots of trees and the option to go several different ways which intersected.
As the sun began to drop in the sky so did the temp outside. Nonetheless we stayed out to capture the sunset by the water and we weren’t disappointed.
Farewell to the Salt Marsh at Soundview Park. This was a great day and time to share with family and loved ones.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Scenes From Central Park
Winding our way thru the park and encountering a huge pond. We paused to look at the scene on the water.
As a kid I always thought these little radio controlled boats were so cool.
Heard em singing while venturing deeper into Central Park.
From here we came upon the Central Park Boat House.
We’ll have to stop in here next time thru.
Right up the way from the Boathouse on the right hand side of the path we encountered yet again the ducks/geese.
The girl on the left is giving the camera so much face!!! It’s that high fashion model look. lol
Look mom there’s an angel in the water. Moving on from here crossing the park a scene was unfolding in the water below.
This was being filmed as we crossed the park. The infamous pirate ship scene.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: BRUNCH AT AGAVE…LAST SUNDAY Feeling like the perfect day for brunch out. Agave was suggested as our landing spot. My baby and I got ready to head to Agave and the weather was absolutely perfect. A light breeze in the air with the sun shining strong made for memories of glorious Summer days gone by.
Arrival at Agave found us wanting to eat outside. And before it could be suggested our hostess took us to an outdoor table. Pretty f&*^%n cool!! Once outside we noticed the cute setup of Two giant umbrellas giving shade to the outdoor space.
Agave’s Pre Fixe menu for bottomless brunch drink special was the logical choice to select. We planned to be there for at least a couple of hours. As I scanned the page my selection sat glaring me in the face. I couldn’t believe it…
It said Hand Hacked…Three Beef Hash!!! Without a doubt I knew it was going to be about getting that Roast beef son!!! Mmmm mmmm!!! We sat in semi quiet moments waiting to be noticed by our server.
After what seemed like an eternity (10 minutes waiting) our server approached. We immediately selected the bottomless brunch and started off with a mimosa & frozen margarita to accompany a plate of calamari. It took a little while for our drinks to arrive but when they did arrive it wasn’t too much longer that our calamari came out of the kitchen.
Agave’s fried calamari!!! In a word… Uh yessuh!
Now that there is how you do fried calamari RIGHT!!!
I have to admit the frozen margarita at Agave is very good. However this is where the experience began to annoy me a bit. It is bottomless brunch for 2 hrs only and yet for literally half an hour from the time we were served our first round of drinks till second round our server was completely inattentive.
We couldn’t get his attention for anything. He had a tray of drinks and got them semi haphazardly correct to whom each drink belonged for fellow outdoor patrons in our section before turning and keeping his back to our table ruling out the possibility of us getting an opportunity to ask him anything.
It turns out he had been working there all of two weeks. And our table wasn’t the only one neglected it seemed as he was learning his industry.
A group of girls had no table paper to cover their table. And when an adjacent table full of girls orders came they had to ask the server how they were to eat their meals with out utensils.
Despite the miscues everyone seemed to be in good spirits and tolerant of the fact that our server was new. When our food arrived a sense of calm and patience began to permeate my dissatisfied with the service mind set.
The steak and eggs with potatoes.
The Hand Hacked Three Beef Hash with Scrambled Eggs. Just what I needed to see. By the time I finished my Three Beef Hash & Scrambled Eggs I began to feel thirsty. What I needed was another frozen Margarita but alas where was our server?
We ended up asking a busser if he could get us our next round of drinks which wasn’t his job but he appreciatively obliged us. From this point on our server actually got better and began to pay more attention to us. I know in part because he was told of our displeasure with the level of service we were getting.
We received our next round of drinks in record time almost whimsically overdone as our server would refill our glasses when they were barely half way done. To be honest I didn’t mind this at all after we had been ignored earlier.
It’s common knowledge that our moods tend to perk up once we’ve eaten a meal. I passed on desert but my baby ordered this.

It was a desert burrito filled with what looked like vanilla and chocolate custard/ice cream accompanied by a handsome dollop of vanilla bean ice cream and sliced strawberries in strawberry sauce.
Looking at it now I wish I had tasted this delectable desert. We had our final round of drinks before asking for our check.
In a nutshell Agave is a pretty good restaurant to eat at when the service is on par with the quality of fare that they serve. Service gets 3 out of 5 dinner plates. OOO
Ambience is OOOOO 5 out of 5 dinner plates thanks to to glorious weather out. Dining outdoor is always a plus when it’s sunny.
My Hand Hacked Three Beef Hash did the job. Roastbeef!!! The eggs I wasn’t too crazy about but the frozen Margarita left me with a more copacetic attitude.
My baby gave the desert a perfect 5 out 5 dinner plates OOOOO. Overall the experience was a good one. Agave we’ll be back. Till nex time this has been the THEJNSREPORT’S: Brunch At Agave.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S : A Midday Photo Walk October 2014
Grand Central ahead. The Photo walk begins here
Lady Hails a Cab. Meanwhile I head inside Grand Central.
Just standing and observing the never ending pace of the city is amazing.
Looks so tempting. Going to have to sample that cheese cake on the top shelf next time passing through.
I zoomed in for a closer look at the clock. You have to admire it’s antique style craftsmanship.
This looks promising. Entering the food court below.
Famous Junior’s of Brooklyn Fame’s Grand Central Location.
Time for lunch.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Domestic Violence…A few thoughts
With the recent high profile cases of domestic violence (Ray Rice, Greg Hardy, et al) in the NFL taking center stage over actual football games, we are given a moment to pause and think about this serious societal issue that isn’t new or the latest scourge in the NFL, but a reflection of what is going on everyday within some families and households across the nation.
Domestic violence in society has two faces but the primary face is that of a man abusing physically and/or emotionally a woman be it a girlfriend, fiancee, wife, child/children. The secondary face which is often less talked about or recognized is when a female is abusing a male.
Most often this goes unreported or unspoken about for a variety of reasons. Men who get abused are viewed as weak, not masculine enough or straight up punks. If you doubt this there is a short video clip everyone should see.
How society views domestic violence when it comes to man vs a woman and when it comes to a woman vs a man. http://www.trueactivist.com The video entitled “This Disgusts Me!!! Would You Stop to Help This Woman?” can also be seen on Youtube. Double standards out in the open. Domestic violence regardless of who is initiating it should not be condoned or tolerated.
