The Human Condition: Life & The Family Bond

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Human Condition: Life & The Family Bondhttps://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/01-01-the-scientist.mp3Sun Ove rhead

Life seems to be a monster roller coaster ride filled with highs and lows, twists and turns through various stages of experience.  Right now my family and I as well as my significant other are experiencing stages of life that are frustrating, painful, exciting, new, and a bit scary due to the uncertainty of the future unfolding for all of us.

Our family home has been the one constant in all of our lives since we were little kids growing up in the inner city.  To have been lucky enough to be born in the greatest city in the world in the best country in the world is special.  It’s something that I think for most of my life I took for granted.  My family and I are the products of hard work determination, God’s protection & guidance and the wisdom, strength and courage of the matriarch of our family our mom.

In the past month there have been some new realities facing us as a family.  We knew that the end of our habitation in the house we had known as home for the past 29 years was coming to an end. And still somehow it hadn’t really sunken in that our family was separating onto the different paths in each of our respective lives.Mardi Gras: Last Day At The House

Embracing independence and the need to grow in our own paths and journeys in life is hard to come to grips with when for so long you’ve known nothing contrary to family being close to each other and living together often under the same roof.  On TV the Hollywood reality scene would poo poo families sharing a living space together even into adulthood. The Tree & Its Branches

Everything comes to an end eventually. Even so, It’s a hard thing to embrace drastic or dramatic change while saying good bye to yesterday’s memories.

Our family Cat. And an amazing joy!

Should Pro Tennis Players Receive Salaries/Guaranteed Contracts?

Posted by THEJNSREPORT on June 30, 2015

The other day while listening to ESPN I heard someone say that they liked the fact that Pro Tennis doesn’t have salaries for the players or guaranteed contracts like other pro sports because it means the players have to go out and earn it every time they take the court.  I didn’t like the comment and thought I’d put up a poll and see if more people share that sentiment.

Are pro athletes spoiled, over paid, egotistical narcissists unworthy of being paid for their labor unless they play and win?  Before you answer consider what you do for a living. Do you feel you deserve a guaranteed contract/salary for what you do?

Body Cameras: To Cam or Not to Cam? That is the Question!

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Body Cameras: To Cam or Not to Cam? That is The Question!https://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/01-01-ready-for-the-fight-original-mix.mp3

Will 1 in 7 cops where body cameras? And even if they do, does that mean they can’t turn them off manually or refuse to record an encounter in public, especially if they know that the camera will capture everything raw in its actual occurrence or manifestation where no spin can be applied?

We all saw on camera 5 to 6 NYPD cops  murder Eric Garner in broad day light captured by a private citizen 3rd party via cell phone.  What has happened to those officers? Nothing.

There’s no accountability for their recorded actions so what good will body cameras do if they can be turned off selectively.  We’ll get edited footage or no footage if it doesn’t favor the officers.  Cameras won’t stop anything or will they?

What’s your thought on this incoming wave of more surveillance?

https://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/01-01-ready-for-the-fight-original-mix.mp3Given the fact that Steph Curry and Golden State bounced back so strongly in game 4 and Lebron and his team looked so dead legged. We ask you the question

We like Cleveland in 7. Remember the words of Rudy Tomjanovich “Don’t ever underestimate the heart of a champion!”

Final Farewell to Mom’s Mardi Gras Roses

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Final Farewell To Mom’s Mardi Gras Roseshttps://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/01-07-feeling-good.mp3

As the time draws to a close and we say goodbye to so many years of family memories.  I take this opportunity to share with you all some shots of one of the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen that good ole mom just so happens to grow in her garden.Mardi Gras Rose 1

The embrace of changes in life is not an easy thing to do but happens to all of us at some point in time and so… After 29 years in the same place we bid farewell to our family home and an icon in the floral collection of our mom:  The Mardi Gras Roses.MGR 2I shot these during the rain in the afternoon the other day.  It makes me think that the roses too recognize this is the last time we’ll see them in our soon to be former home. They too are crying.MGR 4Mom told us how she won these from the Botanical Garden years and years ago and they’ve grown in her garden ever since.MGR 5You know how I feelMGR 3That’s what I meanMGR 7There’s something so whimsical, so elegant, and cool about  these roses. The richness and brilliance of its two tone color and the way the petals are shaped and twist.  We look forward to seeing these grow in our mom’s next garden.  All images are the property of http://www.thejnsreport.com (c) 2015.

Crime & Punishment: Public Sex

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Crime & Punishment: Public Sexhttps://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/nas-black-republicans-instrumental.mp3

As recently as dinner tonight the topic of conversation came up when our waiter during the midst of casual conversation told us that a couple down in Florida had been convicted of public sex on a beach in Florida and each were facing up to 15 years in prison for said lewd public sex act. The couple engaged in sex out in the open on the beach where adults and children were in full view of them and not in the water.

According to the news accounts the 40 year old male and his 20 year old girlfriend got naked and proceeded to have sex in full view of at least one 3 year old girl and several adults.  Some of whom were shocked and disgusted at the scene unfolding in front of not only them but the child present.

One witness to the scene actually recorded the couple having sexual relations in full view of the public while another called the police.  With all that information to digest, I ask the question.  For the aforementioned crime

As a curious side note.  Would it make a difference if the couple was physically fit and/attractive when factoring in your thoughts on their punishment?  For example had the couple been both “unattractive and/or morbidly obese” would that have any bearing on the severity of the punishment to be levied?

And as a secondary poll question all things considered

Weigh in with your thoughts and votes.
