The Yankees

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: The Yankees 😀 https://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/01-01-ready-for-the-fight-original-mix.mp3

Where to begin?  My apologies to all the great followers of THEJNSREPORT.  I’ve been away for a bit dealing with various other projects and issues.  Here’s to more regular updates and posts.  With that said.

I’ll begin  with the MLB postseason looming large, and the fact that our NY Yankees have stunk as of late losing back to back games against our loathed rival the Boston Red Sox…Ughhhh.  It leaves me wondering if our Yankees will be able to even make the Wild Card.

Two nights ago THEJNSREPORT and J Cellan Designs’ CEO Jim Cellan attended the Yankees game and it was truly an awesome surreal experience!  The Red Sox are in town and it’s time to live up to those pinstripes and show the world how you do your enemies at home.Outside The Stadium Game timeInstead the game starts with a good beat down of 6 runs scored in the very first inning for the Red Sox.  Not a good start to the game by any stretch of the imagination.  There are a bunch of excuses to be made about the roster and injuries but none forthcoming from this Yankee fan.At The Gates

Interior Yankee Stadium 3I mean we hadn’t even gotten our first plate of food from the Legends Bar/Lounge Restaurant before we noted the score.Dinner Is Served

You step on the field as “Paid Professionals”.  You are representing the winningest championship franchise in the history of the MLB and your playing your arch nemesis at home.  I’m sure some of that resonated within the team.  But it also felt as if the team just didn’t have their A game and weren’t able to once so many runs scored right off the bat (no pun intended).

The Legends Bar/ Lounge Restaurant was a very cool experience.  Wristbands given to us allowed unfettered access to “free” all you can eat dining and an exclusive stairway leading us out to the stadium seats at the lowest level for seating.  I mean first class all the way.Yankee BurgersYes also sampled a couple of cheeseburgers fresh off the grill.  Food servers dole out the portions onto your plate as you survey the buffet spread, though you can request how much you want of whatever.

That said, I did note some employees seeming non too happy to be there and having an “annoyed at one’s presence” look on their faces as you asked for food.  I mean the tickets paid for the seats we had (which include this exclusive dining experience) aren’t cheap.   The attitude by everyone working there serving should be give these patrons as much of whatever it is they want as the hosts explained to us.  We shouldn’t experience workers almost grudgingly giving one food.  Done Eatin'After eating we made our way out to our seats to see the game up close &  personal. Seats at the Game Press RowYes we were this close to the action.  Unreal experience I’ll never forget.Press Row 2

Alas it wasn’t to be as we fell to the Red Sox 9 to 4.

Reflecting on the losses of Yankee greats like “The Sandman” Mariano Rivera, & last year Derek Jeter from the eras of Yankees Dominance and with the passing of Yankee legend and Hall Of Famer Yogi Berra it’s another reminder that change is inevitable.  It will come.  So with that in mind and knowing with the passing of elders comes the future youth to take their place, I’m looking forward to seeing the team bounce back and not get swept this series.  Hopefully we’ll be able to hold on and get to the Wild Card game.  Hopefully some new Yankee blood will emerge as the next wave of Yankee greats.

Serena Williams: Approaching Historic Milestone

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Serena Williams: Approaching Historic Milestone

by T.D Moody

The U.S Open is upon us and the historic journey Serena Williams is on has begun its last act.  In the first round Serena made short work of her opponent and easily advanced to the second round. One match down six to go.

Regardless of whether she wins the calendar slam equaling the feat Steffi Graf accomplished back in 1988, Serena has already etched in many tennis fans minds that she is undoubtedly the greatest female tennis player of her generation (and very soon) ever to play the game.  Her accomplishments are well-known but that doesn’t mitigate the immense pressure she’s carefully tried to keep at bay.

Watching some of her lead up tournament wins one could see frustration and concern on her face as if she were about to cry even on points where she’s won the point.  In my opinion this is due to nerves and her focusing so hard mentally on every point and wanting to win so badly.  However, for such a dominant player she need not have that attitude knowing her game and her ability to shine in the biggest moments.

When she plays her game (at her best) with few unforced errors there is not a doubt in my mind that she is almost unbeatable against any other rival opponent across the net.  Win or lose I’m pulling for Serena to reach that goal of winning her 22nd career grand slam title and equaling the calendar slam as Graf did.  We don’t know how much longer she will play and have health and dominance on her side so we should all really take in what we’re witnessing and appreciate what she and her sister Venus have meant to the game of tennis and in particular women’s tennis.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Images of The Day: Central Parkhttps://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/01-08-shorty-on-the-lookout-explicit1.mp3

Summer in NYC is definitely one of my favorite times of the year.  Without further ado here’s some shots taken in Central Park this Summer. On The Lake In Central ParkThe color of the water might not be so great but the scene in the background is perfect.Boathouse & BoatsPeople out enjoying the sun and boating around the lake in central park on a glorious Summer day. The FountainThis water fountain always attracts lots of people be it locals or tourists to it for photo ops and selfies. It’s hard to get a shot of it completely devoid of people. The Fountain Close UpLast shot I leave you with is this close up of the fountain.  All I can say is patience is truly a virtue.  Stay tuned I’ll return with more cool shots as Summer winds down and we prepare for Labor Day Weekend.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Scenes of the City From Williamsburghttps://thejnsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/01-07-paradise-circus.mp3While the Summer has been flying by it’s still amazing to capture the beauty of the city from within and without it.  On a recent trip to Williamsburg I snapped the following.  Across the water

Willaimsburg Pier Condo Buildings

New condos are springing up by the pier and the ferry connecting the city to Williamsburg is a very much needed plus.

Williamsburg Pier

Unique Bike On Pier

What an excellent idea to ride comfortably and in style down the pier.

Looking Back At Williamsburg

Williamsburg definitely has it going on.  The ferry ride is a short one that terminates at 34th street on the east side of Manhattan.

This guy knows how to enjoy the pier.  I couldn’t help but wonder if he bought that thing or built it himself.  Either way it’s pretty cool.NYC Skyline From FerryThe city beckons…bridges & waterBridges and water.Approaching 2nd stop on ferryThe piers are beautiful.Docking at the PierThis was the second stop on the way.  Perhaps next time I’ll get off here and just sit watching the view over the water.Final ApproachOnce those who were getting off at the second stop were unloaded.
