Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S:Getting Away To Governor’s Island Continued… Picking up from where we left off and continuing to make our way through Governor’s Island we continued documenting our trip through the island.
Apparently Governor’s Island is an oasis for many different bird species.
Read the sign and learned something new.
The lamp
Which way do we go?
A Road divided
I love this concept. I mean if it were customizable that would be sick!
The new charging stations I see popping up are cool. Solar power.
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Getting Away to Governor’s Island On a glorious day off I ventured away from the sounds and craziness that is NYC…sort of. The local tourist in me awakened in a day I would be able to spend with my baby at Governor’s Island. Our trip began with a walk from the subway through lower Manhattan. I snapped these along the way to the Governor’s Island Ferry. What does this say to you? This is very creative.
I’d heard the stories of America with “Streets paved with Gold” never thought I’d see “A Street Named Gold”. Where’s One? Did somebody say “GreenLight”? The clouds were painting an insane backdrop for the ships in the port.
Approaching Governor’s Island somehow reminded me of entering Jurassic Park.
Looking back at the city.
A castle in the distance.
I caught this as I turned my gaze from Castle William.
Now back to Castle William. What does this say to you? The Statue: What does it really represent? NJ across the way. We continued our trip around the island perimeter and happened upon him/her sitting atop a light pole.
Take a look at the amazing futuristic car!!! No joke image it people drive cars by pedaling like in the picture which is hooked up to something that stores the energy generated by the pedalers to be used as a battery. Serves several purposes helps cause weight loss and gets everyone off wasting natural resources in favor of bio-powered exercise!!!
The Geese were out in full force.
Turning your back on us.
If you take your time and look, you’ll see these two are different…
Stay tuned for Governor’s Island Continued…

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Central Park “Spring” 2014 PT II
Check out the miniature waterfall. Amazing how most anything in life is relative to scale.
The heck you say…
That Duck got to flapping its wings and doing a little speed boat action for us.
This was just a peaceful view.
This one was giving us all fashion. “Get my right side, my right side!”
I don’t know about you but that tree right there is sick looking (In a good way). I’ve been seeing trees in bloom like this one all over the city. It had to get got.

Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: Central Park “Spring” 2014 Location: Duh..Central Park, 2pm
On a day my friend and I decided to get out and enjoy a beautiful day out in Central Park we walked through the park on a way that I hadn’t been thru Central Park before. Shame on me a native new yorker but the great thing is, it’s never to late to learn something or discover something new.
Entering Central park from the upper east side and 5th ave led to a cross the park hike up and down and slight inclines and declines in the trail which is being given a face lift from it’s previous decades.
The sight of the canoes gave me flashbacks to child hood sleep away camp Summer’s gone by.
This is what you will encounter more and more throughout the park as Spring unfolds more slowly this year than I remember in recent years. Next on our way through the park we encountered multiple bird feeders in the trees along the paths. Immediately captivated by the different colors on display we got a little caught up “bird watching”. 😉
Welcome to THEJNSREPORT’S: BAN ON OUTDOOR CIGAR/CIGARETTE SMOKING
I don’t know about you but I enjoy being outdoors in sunshine with a gentle breeze and plenty of fresh air. That being said one thing I can’t stand is the smell of cigarettes and cigar smoke. Besides the heinous odor they put out, the dangerous second-hand smoke I and many other passersby receive from smokers out in the open air is infuriating to no end.
It’d be one thing if the only person affected by smoking was the real smoker. The fact that concentrated plumes of second-hand smoke expelled outdoors travel, and are 5x more concentrated than the pull of smoke the first smoker inhales.
I can’t count the number of times while walking the horrible plumes of cancer causing smoke hit me in the face causing me to search for the offending party to walk briskly in front of them in order not to experience it again.
Sometimes I’m lucky enough to do just that and some times the wind aids the offending party by blowing in all directions. Why is this poison legal and Cannabis not? The answer to me is obvious. One kills people, the other kills cancer cells and helps with a multitude of ailments.
One is a controlled Multi-Billion Dollar Enterprise, the other a burgeoning Trillion Dollar Enterprise if made legal. Corporations that have that much money and lobby power make sure what’s good & free for all, isn’t and made illegal while the other kills and is readily available. It even kills those who don’t regularly imbibe it because of its ability to affect 2nd and 3rd parties. I’m in favor of a city-wide ban on smoking cigars/cigarettes outdoors. All that said…
